The
Community Nursery School of Cedar Grove is owned and operated by the
Community Church. The school is non-sectarian, state certified,
non-profit, and it services many children from surrounding
communities. The school was established as a service to the
communities in 1948. The school uses the Frazier Hall and classroom
facilities for the two sessions of the preschool program.
The school year begins September 15th
and is in session for 8 months through Memorial Day.

The 3-year old program meets on
Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am-11:30am. The 4-year old program
meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00am-1:00pm. The
children bring their lunch to school for this 4-year old program.

There is a staff of four teachers who
are dedicated and experienced to minister to the needs of the
children. Helen Emrich, Director, is certified in Early childhood
and K-8. She has been with the school for 24 years. Mrs. Emrich is a
graduate of State University of New York, New Paltz with graduate
courses at Columbia University and William Paterson University.

The philosophy of the school is to
have as many experiences as possible that will help the children
grow emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively. The
activities include music, arts and crafts, stories and educational
units. We work in small groups that teach science, numbers, colors
and shapes, reading readiness and community helpers. |
